Coriander Leaves
Also known as 'Cilantro' and 'Chinese Parsley'.
Coriander is another spice from the parsley family, and may be one of the very first spices used by humankind, with a history that dates back to 5000 BC! It was also one of the first spices to arrive in America. Coriander comes from Morocco and Romania and is commonly used in things as diverse as Indian curries, gin, American cigarettes and sausages. It has a mild, distinctive taste similar to a blend of lemon and sage. Ground coriander seed is frequently found in desserts and sweet pastries, as well as in curries, meat, seafood dishes, stews and marinades. It is an internationally popular spice for South American, Indian, Mediterranean and African cuisine.
